Select a topic featured in one of the Gale In Context databases. These databases are perfect for this assignment, as they feature relevant issues and include many credible sources. Click here to locate the database logins.
- Step-by-step directions for citing Gale databases are located in the library Schoology group.
- To add an Annotation to your citation - scroll down to the bottom of your citation to find the textbox. If you already saved the citation, click the 3 dots to the right of it and select "Edit".
- Step-by-step directions for exporting citations into a Works Cited page are located in the library Schoology group.

Here are some options for copyright-friendly images.
- Search the same Gale In-Context database you used for your sources. You can export the image citations to Noodletools.
- Wikimedia Commons (includes pre-formatted citations). Click "Cite this page" on left side of screen. Copy and paste the citation into Noodletools. Click here for directions.
- Discovery Ed - Discovery Ed citations can be copied and pasted into Noodletools. Click here for directions.
- Google Images - After you conduct your initial search, click the "Search Tools" button. Click the arrow next to Usage Rights and select the "Creative Commons" option. Click here for step-by-step directions for citing.
- AP Images - Click here to locate step-by-step directions for citing.
- JSTOR images - must log in with username and pw. Click "Cite" to export the citation to Noodletools

Video clips - There are lots of informational video clips in these databases. Click here to find the logins.
Click "Share" to locate the URL for the video or video segment. This is the link that will go on your slide. *Citations can be exported directly to Noodletools.
You can "Copy the link" for the video or download the video. If you decide to download, you will need to upload the video file into Google Drive before inserting it into your slideshow. *Discovery Ed citations can be copied and pasted into Noodletools. Click here for directions. |
To cite a YouTube video: Select Website - Video Clip (Online). Complete as many fields as you can.
