Books
We have some helpful print books about monarchs. Some are already on the cart in the library; others can be found through the catalog. Since classes will be sharing materials, you may request free photocopies of specific pages.

Websites
British Royal Family History - https://www.britroyals.com/
- Helpful for Simple Show - contains biographical info, images and family trees
This is the site you will use to create the explainer video showing the monarch's line of succession to the throne.
Create your script first. Use https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e7iUDGF8xZOm9FsOQm5gHPtB5S4cdKeY-h4nhxJZnKE/copy
1. Create an account (use the "with Google" option).
2. Select Start Creating- Create New Video - Write Your Own Script - Educational- Explain a Historical Event
3. Title the video (Ex: Henry III: His Journey to the Throne)
4. Use an adequate number of slides to show how the monarch got to the throne (3 generations in most cases, therefore 3 steps).
*Don't worry about the titles that MySimpleShow uses for the slides (they won't appear in the video).
5. End with a slide that concludes your video. You may skip any slides you don't need.
6. Choose visuals. You can use some in their collection and upload your own (monarchs that preceded yours).
7. You will receive an email when the video is done. A link to the video will be included in the email.
You can use Flipgrid to record your TikTok video if you do not use TikTok or would rather not use it.
This article contains examples of teens using TikTok to "explain" historical events.
