DIRECTIONS FOR THE EXPLAINER VIDEO
What is it? It is a short, animated video that conveys knowledge in a concise, storytelling format.
1. Sign up for a free account at www.mysimpleshow.com/. Use the "Continue with Google" option and use your WCASD account.
2. Select "Create new video" and title it. Click "Write your own Script".
3. Select the "Educational" option at the top of the page.
4. Choose "Summarize a Famous Person's Biography" and complete the 5 sections. All students (no matter the topic) will use this template and modify wording as necessary.
Tip: You may want to storyboard your script using this Google Doc, as MySimpleShow does not perform spellcheck.
5. After completing your script, the program will select appropriate images. You can change these images by removing certain words as keywords and by searching for new images or uploading your own.
Notes about images
7. You must allow ample time (could take more than 1 hour) for MySimpleShow to produce your video (do not wait until the last minute). You will receive an email when it is finished.
8. After receiving the email, click the provided link to access and watch your finished video. You will upload this link to the discussion folder in Schoology.

- You must upload 5 of your own copyright-friendly images about your topic
- Images in library databases are licensed for educational purposes, therefore you do not need special permission to use them.

- Google Images - After you conduct your initial search, click the "Search Tools" button. Click the arrow next to Usage Rights and select one of the "noncommercial use" options.
