databases that contain print reference sources
Citing sources found in databases:
Databases: You can copy and paste pre-formatted citations from databases.
- To do so, locate the source citation, found either at the top or bottom of the article. Copy it. Select "Database" and click "Create citation". Scroll down and click the type of source you located in the database (book, reference source, magazine, etc.). Click "Copy and paste citation" and paste the citation into the box marked with an asterisk. Verify accuracy and click "Submit".
Books: You can import citation information using the book's ISBN # or title/author. This also holds true for e-books.
- To do so, locate the ISBN # on the back cover or title page of the book. For e-books, look in a section often called "About the book". Can't find it? You can change the import option to title/author. Enter the information into the field at the top of the book citation screen in Noodletools and click "Import".
